Chasing the Stars Book Event

The UW-Madison Astronomy Department and University Communications/Office of Strategic Communication (along with the friendly collaboration of L&S Honors) invite you to an open house reception at Washburn Observatory on Wednesday 22nd May, 7:30-10pm. By the light of May’s waxing Flower Moon we will celebrate the publication of Chasing the Stars, a new book (Wisconsin Historical Society Press, 2024) by Jim Lattis and Kelly Tyrrell on the history of Washburn Observatory and its scientific legacy.  Visitors are welcome to come at any time during open house hours.  Light refreshments will be served.  We will open the telescope for observing after dark if weather permits.  Copies of the book, which the authors will be pleased to sign, will be available for purchase.  Or see go.wisc.edu/chasingthestarsbook
