Notes for Sybil Gertrude Elton Townshend

Sybil was born at Llanvapley Rectory and baptized in Llanvapley Church, Abergavenny, on 14 July 1901. She married first 31 July 1926 and second in 1945.

Sybil's second son, Michael, inherited the unpublished autobiography of his grandfather Edward Mansel Townshend [630] and a large amount of Townsend family correspondence dating from 1816. Over many years Michael spent much time and effort transcribing the originals and much of the information contained in these records has been derived from this. The originals and transcriptions (on disc) have been deposited in Gloucester Record Office.

Sybil's daughter Veronica (Nikki), by her second marriage, was born on 27 October 1945 and in 2013 was living in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire.
