Notes for Anna Jane Townshend.

Married 1858. John Croasdaile JP (1) of Rynn (2), Rossnale, Queen's Co (Offaly), Ireland, second son of Lancelot Croasdaile of Rynn,(3) High Sheriff 1811. See Burke's Landed Gentry 1912 – Croasdaile.

Anna was a very keen birdwatcher and contributed to “The Birds of Ireland” (see pages X, 51 and 101) on sightings of sandmartins and woodlarks, the latter being in 1874 when she was living at Rynn in Queen's County.

The April 1911 Irish Census records Anna, aged 74, living on an income derived from investments in a 6 roomed house in Killiney, Dublin with a female domestic. The census records that she only had two children.
