Courses:
Hands on the Universe (AST113) Fall 2009
The Interstellar Medium (AST320) Spring 2009
The interstellar medium (ISM) is the matter which occupies the enormous volume between stars. The ISM consists of gas and dust particles, permeated by magnetic fields and bathed by energetic cosmic rays (energetic protons, electrons and gamma rays). Stars are born from the ISM, and they die and return matter to the ISM at the end of their life.
Experiences in Astronomical Observing (AST460) Fall 2008
The main goal of this course is to provide a basic introduction to astrophysical research. Some of the topics discussed include: good research practices, understanding the astronomical literature, how to write articles for professional scientific journals, how to write a project report using LaTeX, and how to present your results using PowerPoint.
