Estimate of the SRT's beam pattern by Al Lawrence obtained by scanning the Sun in Az and El.

Estimate of the SRT's beam pattern by Al Lawrence. Average class results: FWHM = 6.3 +/- 0.6 deg (in Az) and 6.2 +/- 0.2 deg in El. Theoretical prediction for an antenna with a tapered Gaussian illumination is 6.2 deg.

Galactic HI spectra at l=20 deg obtained with the SRT by Paul Sell. The corresponding spectra from the Leiden-Dwingeloo (LDS) survey, smoothed to match our angular resolution, are shown with the dashed line. Note the excellent agreement in the shape, width and heigth of HI profiles between the 2.3m SRT and 25m Dwingeloo telescope.

Galactic HI spectra at l=45 deg obtained with the SRT by Snez. The corresponding spectra from the Leiden-Dwingeloo (LDS) survey are shown in red. The velocity offset of about 40 km/sec corresponds to conversion between topocentric and LSR velocity scale.

Galactic HI spectrum at l=60 deg obtained with the SRT by Matt Huang (crosses). LDS data are shown as triangles. The SRT radial velocities were corrected for the Earth's motion wrt to the Solar system barycenter and barycenter's motion wrt to the Local Standard of Rest. Notice excellent agreement in velocity between SRT and LDS.

Galactic rotation curved measured from a combination of SRT and LDS data by Nick Pingel. Due to occassionally bad interefence SRT data were complemented by LDS.
