About an hour after leaving Horombo Huts on Day 4 we left the moorlands behind, and the high Alpine desert began. All water for the next 24 hours' worth of drinking and cooking must be carried from this point on. In truth, this place was little more than a marsh, and its water was not fit for drinking. We had already filled our bottles at a running stream about fifteen minutes back down the path.
