After three months of training and four hours' delay on the morning of Thursday, April 12, 2001, our group boarded this truck for the hour-long ride up the mountain to the Marangu Gate. The cause of the delay was that our own school truck had broken down the day before, forcing us to borrow this truck and its driver from neighboring Mawenzi Secondary School.
