Here I am supported by three of my friends from Peace Corps Tanzania, from left to right: Ruby Chin, Laurel Brown, and Beth Strunk. In the back stands Clay Hogen, sporting the beard which he would later shave off after a clerk in a photo store in Dar es Salaam saw a resemblance between Clay and Osama bin Laden. Clay and Laurel both accompanied me on the trip to see the eclipse in Zambia. This photo was taken by John Brecher at Lake Chala, a crater lake southeast of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
