| The background image is a composite Hubble Space Telescope image of a star cluster designated NGC 602 and it's surrounding nebula N90. It is currently the subject of my research. It was featured on Astronomy Picture Of the Day (APOD) along with more information about it on January 10, 2007. The APOD image is oriented with North to the left, which emphasizes it's resemblance to the gaping maw of some many-toothed monster. Like most astronomers, I typically work with astronomical images in a conventional North-up orientation. |
