                                    HI Shells

HI shells are created when intense stellar winds or supernovae explosions dump large amounts of mechanical energy into the ISM. These bubbles are filled with hot gas and surrounded by neutral material. These shells are thought to be responsible for propagating star formation and blowing holes in the disks of galaxies.
