I am a scientist, communicator, and trainer passionate about cultivating strategy, storytelling and empathy within academic communication to broaden scientific understanding, participation, and engagement.

I earned my PhD in Astronomy at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where I used supercomputers to simulate the vibrations of stars in order to learn about their hidden interiors. I earned my PhD Minor in Life Sciences Communication, where I learned about the role of storytelling in science communication research.

When I’m not thinking about science or science communication, I am thinking about my dogs, backpacking, rock climbing, and community organizing.
