I’m a PhD candidate in the Department of Astronomy and the Department of Life Sciences Communication at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. I am also a Fellow at Story Form Science. I use computer simulations to study the vibrations of stars and I teach scientists how to use narrative to communicate science

Previously I was an undergraduate in the Department of Physics at the University of California Santa Cruz, where I used computer simulations to explore the physics of white dwarfs being ripped apart by black holes.

When I’m not thinking about physics, I’m thinking about story telling and science communication, rock climbing, backpacking, biking, baking, partner dancing, or seeking out the best whiskey sour.
