Jonah's Baptism

April 15, 2001

Jonah is holding his baptism at St.  Paul's University Catholic Center at the 11 am Mass on Sunday,   April   15. Since it's on a college campus, dress is "church casual". Guys, you don't  need to wear ties unless you want to! The service should last just over an hour  and then we'll head back   to his  house at 5013 Starker Avenue for an Easter/Baptismal  luncheon.  Maps   and directions  can be found below.  If you are interested  in staying  overnight   in Madison, you'll find two hotels very close  to our house: a Country Inn & Suites and a Days Inn (see the map below). Maps & Directions

• From Chicago to the Beltline:
  Take I-90 west through Rockford and Janesville to Madison (about two hours). Take exit 142, Hwy 12/18 (the Beltline) west. You will need to be in the left lane.
  
  From Milwaukee to the Beltline:
  Take I-94 west to the 90/94 interchange and go East (left) on 90. The next exit is mile 142, Hwy 12/18 (the Beltline). Take it west (normal right lane exit).

• From the Beltline to St. Paul's:
  Stay on the Beltline for about 4 miles until you get to Park Street (Hwy 151). Go north (right) on Park.

Take Park 2-3 miles to Johnson Street (one-way) and go east. Make a left at the next light, North Lake Street. Take it north, go straight at the next light (University Ave.) and park in the public garage 1/2 block past the light.

To get to the church, walk from the garage up Lake Street to State Street and make a left onto the mall (where State would continue). Walk about a 1/2 block down to St. Paul's, which is directly across the mall from Memorial Library. It will be on your left right past the University Book Store.

• From St. Paul's to Jonah's House:
  Head back to the Beltline by retracing your route. The only change is that you have to take a right at the first light (University Avenue) after exiting the garage, since University and Johnson are one-way streets. Park will be at the next light. Turn left and head back to the Beltline. Take the Beltline east (back toward 90) about 4 miles and exit north (left) onto Hwy 51 (Stoughton Road). Take 51 north a mile or two to Buckeye Road and make a right (east).

Take Buckeye about a mile east to Woodvale (just past the big Lake City church/school on your right). Make a left, go one block to Starker, make a right and Jonah's house is the second on the right: 5013 Starker.
