GRB 34 A is a UV Ceti-type star (flaring variable). It is famous as the star to which the Artifact was traced back. It's planets are not very well known to people back on Earth. As a struggling colony world with few natural resources, Origin World is not a place of much interest to most. Originally, it was declared to be a lifeless world with a surprisingly high oxygen fraction (much lower than Earth though). It was decded that this might be a good terraforming world in the long run, despite its sparse water. More recently, however, reports of basic life on the single colonized planet have come back to Earth, which has complicated the issue.
The companion star GRB 34 B was named Legume as a joking expansion of LGM, or Little Green Men. It is a wide-binary companion to Origin.
