I'm not sure I have the complete list of participants on this e-mail - institutional reps please make sure that your PIs receive this information. As has been noted before, all of the time this semester is shared-risk, and it is particularly risky early in the semester. The overall ratio of requests to available time was about 1.2 - given that this is the first semester of the project we decided to cut down most proposals by a small amount and grant at least some time to each project, rather than stick to the precise requested time allotments and cut some people out. Please let us know whether this practice should be continued in future semesters! Also, the synoptic proposals were distributed in such a way that we are handling them somewhat differently from what we expected. The vast majority of synoptic time requested was for photometric time only. There were only a few monitoring programs, certainly not enough to use a full night of non-photometric time. Therefore we have not designated any specific "synoptic" nights. Instead, we have incorporated the photometric requests into S2KB classical runs, with specific instructions when appropriate for when these programs are to be executed. There are two monitoring programs, which will use small amounts of time during every S2KB night. These involve one 600s integration and one 900s integration per night for Sydney Barnes (UW) and Charles Bailyn (Yale) respectively. Detailed instructions will be provided for S2KB observers - it won't be very complicated. Please send any questions or requests for clarifications to me and to Heidi Schweiker at heidis@noao.edu. Suggestions for modified scheduling procedures for future semesters would also be appreciated. Note that the next call for proposals will be significantly earlier in the cycle, probably some time in October, so that the NOAO requests and University requests can be scheduled at the same time, rather than allocating the NOAO mosaic time before we know what the university requests are - as some of you know, we had some non-ideal situations because the mosaic schedule was determined before we saw the university proposals. I'd like to thank the other committee members, especially Bob Mathieu and Heidi who did most of the work setting this schedule up. We all look forward to exciting science in this and future semesters! Charles Bailyn, for the Scheduling Committee of Bailyn, Sarajedini, Mathieu, Marzke and Schweiker.
