| Abstract |
We identify and investigate new and poorly studied open clusters in the
recently obtained GLIMPSE-360 data. After identifying the clusters and
candidates visually in the GLIMPSE survey images, we dereddened the
2MASS color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) using the RJCE method and
performed isochrone fitting. We identified 22 candidates with convincing
cluster CMDs and no existing identification in the literature, and we
obtained follow-up photometry for a few selected candidates. The purpose
of this project is to determine the basic parameters (age, reddening,
metallicity and distance) of these open clusters where possible, thus
contributing to the ongoing census of open clusters in the Milky Way. |
