Marilyn Meade started a 1-year appointment at the University of Wisconsin in 1971 and has been here ever since. Her specialty is processing and analyzing astronomical data, and developing computer programs for the reduction, analysis and archiving of astronomical data.
Here is a list of projects that Marilyn has been actively involved in: the Orbiting Astronomical Observatory (OAO; 1971-1982), the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE; 1978-1991), the Hubble Space Telescope Goddard High Resolution Spectrograph (HST GHRS; 1991-1993), The Wide-Field Imaging Survey Polarimeter (WISP; 1993-1999), the Wisconsin Ultraviolet Photo-Polarimeter Experiment (WUPPE; 1983-1998), the UW Pine Bluff Observatory spectropolarimeter (HPOL; 1985-present), the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE; 1998-2008), and the Spitzer Space Telescope surveys of the Galactic plane (GLIMPSE) and Magellanic clouds (SAGE) (2001-present).
