Brian Babler earned his B.S. in Physics/Astronomy from the UW-Madison in 1984.  Completing a Master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1987 he returned to Madison and was hired by the Space Astronomy Laboratory.  He has been with the Astronomy department since 1989.  He specializes in data processing and analysis.

Since 1989 he has worked on a variety of projects involving a variety of astronomical instruments, these include:  Wisconsin Ultraviolet Photo-Polarimeter Experiment (WUPPE),  the UW Pine Bluff Observatory spectropolarimeter (HPOL), the Wisconsin H-Alpha Mapper (WHAM), the Startracker 5000 (ST5000), the Wide-Field Imaging Survey Polarimeter (WISP), the more
