Washburn Astronomical Laboratories Interim Director Named

Apr 11, 2013

Dr. Marsha Wolf has been promoted to full Scientist and has agreed to serve as the Interim Director of the Washburn Astronomical Laboratories.

Wolf is Principal Investigator for the Robert Stobie Spectrograph Near Infrared Arm (RSS-NIR) for the 11-meter Southern African large Telescope (SALT), a current project in progress by the Laboratories' staff.

Formally established within the department last summer, the Washburn Labs are dedicated to the development and implementation of astronomical instrumentation. This name pays tribute to astronomy's historic beginnings at the University of Wisconsin.
