""How to Make a Galaxy: The Role of Gas in Galaxy Evolution" "

Theories of galaxy formation predict that the growth of galaxies is regulated by the infall of hydrogen gas, which is the fuel for star formation. When galaxies run out of gas they stop forming stars. This talk will explore this idea and test it by observations of galaxy clusters.
