"Galileo FAQ: Addressing some Myths and Misunderstandings"

Our views of Galileo — considered (rightly) as the founding figure of modern astronomy and frequently the very symbol of it — are surrounded by a fog of myths and misunderstandings.  Sorry to say, many of these are propagated in the process of teaching astronomy.  In an attempt to take a positive and concise approach to addressing the myths, I will present a list of Frequently Asked Questions about Galileo.  Most of the questions have good answers, which will also be offered.
