Things To Do in Madison
Exercise/Athletics
- There is a lot to do at UW's South East Recreational Facility
(SERF). This facility is available to some University guests.
- There is a great jogging/biking path starting at the Memorial
Union's Terrace and heading west along Lake Mendota to Picnic
Point.
- The UW Arboretum is little further from campus, but it is worth
the trip. The Arboretum features nature trails and a 3-mile
stretch of road closed to thru traffic which is great for
jogging or biking.
- The city has numerous parks (here's
a map).
- Vilas Park (#7 on the map above) has a great zoo including a
petting area for children (or adults!). Admission is free.
