How to Apply to the UW Department of Astronomy

Because we admit applicants with support for the Astronomy Ph.D. program, admission is highly competitive. Therefore, the Department of Astronomy admits a small number of applicants annually.

Appllcation to the Department of Astronomy Graduate School consists of two general parts:

1. The University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School Application
2. The UW Astronomy Department Application
3. Make sure you've completed everything on your checklist
